FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is there a contract or monthly minimum?
No contract. Each SIP endpoint is on a monthly plan, charged to your prepaid balance on the day you create it and on the same date each month after that. Delete the endpoint and the charges stop from the next billing date. Calls beyond the minutes your plan includes are billed from your balance at your plan's per-minute rate.
Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
Yes. Port-in is free for US and Canadian numbers. Submit a recent bill and a signed LOA through the portal and we coordinate the port with your losing carrier. Numbers stay live throughout — cutover happens on the confirmed FOC date.
What equipment do I need?
Anything that speaks SIP. That includes the NextIP web and mobile softphones, IP desk phones from Yealink, Polycom, Grandstream and Cisco, ATAs for analogue phones and fax machines, and PBX platforms like FreePBX, 3CX and Asterisk.
How does the reseller programme differ from a normal account?
A reseller account adds a client layer: you create customer accounts underneath yours, set your own retail rates on top of wholesale, and give each customer a branded portal. Billing, provisioning and support relationships are yours; the network and the numbers are ours.
Do you support SMS on toll-free numbers?
Yes, on supported toll-free prefixes. Toll-free A2P messaging requires verification, which we submit on your behalf. Local numbers require 10DLC brand and campaign registration for application-to-person traffic.
How are outbound calls priced?
Each plan includes a number of minutes a month. Beyond that, calls are charged at our carrier's rate plus the markup shown on your plan. The per-minute rates on the pricing page are read from our billing platform for each plan, so they are what you are charged.
Is E911 included?
E911 is available on all US and Canadian DIDs for a small monthly fee per number. You must register a valid dispatchable address for each DID before emergency calling will work on it.
What happens if my internet goes down?
Set a failover destination on each DID — a mobile number, another SIP URI or a voicemail box. If your primary endpoint stops registering, inbound calls roll to failover automatically.
